Who are we?  - The Chehalis River Council (CRC) is a volunteer-run nonprofit corporation, dedicated to the conservation and restoration of natural resources in the Chehalis River Basin.  We are based in Centralia, but we work throughout the basin, from Grays Harbor to Rainbow Falls. 

 

 

 

 

What are our current projects?  CRC focuses on a variety of projects, depending on funding and the interests of our volunteers.  Read more about some of these below.

 

• Drops of Water – our monthly newspaper insert on environmental issues
• Volunteer Monitoring – water quality and macroinvertebrates in the Upper Chehalis
• South Fork Chehalis Stewardship Program – working with the community to improve the South Fork Chehalis River
• Chehalis Basin Educational Consortium – watershed education in our schools
• Critical Area Ordinance Updates – protecting important habitats in Grays Harbor, Lewis, and Thurston Counties
• Boat Access Site Cleanups – litter removal and stewardship at WDFW boat ramps
• Outreach Events – festivals, displays at fairs, seminars, river trips and hikes
