The goal of this project is to develop a community-based stewardship program to improve water quality and ecological conditions in the South Fork Chehalis River. During 4-years of volunteer monitoring we measured high water temperatures, high fecal coliform levels, and declining macroinvertebrate populations in the South Fork. We hope to involve the Boistfort Valley community in efforts to solving these problems by improving riparian habitat and water quality.
