Dear Chehalis Basin Project Participants:

We have recently completed the consultant selection process for development of the Level I technical assessment for the Chehalis River basin. We have selected a team lead by Joy Michaud of Envirovision and are currently negotiating a contract with them to perform this work.

We are eager to get the consultant team working on evaluation of the data as soon as possible. The first step in this process is to collect the existing information (data, reports, plans, etc.) on the basin. We are looking to each of you to assist with this part of the project by collecting and providing information from your project files or library. Please comb through your project files for reports and data sources that are pertinent to the Chehalis River basin. Please provide copies (hard copy or disk copy) of all reports and data sources you have on file.

We also need to collect information on existing land use related regulations, pertaining to water quantity, water quality and fish habitat, in the basin (i.e., shorelines, land use, stormwater, critical areas, drinking water, etc.). We do not necessarily need copies of the regulations, but we do need a list of regulations, codes and their citations so we can obtain a copy if we need it. If you your jurisdiction's regulations are on a Website, then please provide us that address.

In order to meet the project schedule, we need to make this information available to the consultant team as soon as possible. We are asking that each of you provide this information to us by September 1, 1999. Also, if you are aware of other information sources that should be included in this data gathering effort, please let us know.
