SUBJECT: - Suggested process for reviewing draft Chehalis Basin Watershed Plan sections

We are pleased to provide you with draft sections of the Chehalis Basin Watershed Plan to review. As you will see from the materials attached, we plan to color-code drafts to help you (and us) keep track of the different versions of draft documents.

What are you asked to do with the documents printed on yellow paper? These are abbreviated versions of Issue Papers that the Steering/Technical Committee has drafted. They are designed to focus attention on key issues that face the Chehalis Basin, provide background information about them, and lay out a range of possible recommendations for your consideration. These draft issue papers will be revised and finalized based on your questions, comments, discussions and decisions about appropriate recommendations. We hope you will allocate most of your valuable time to these documents.

What are you asked to do with the documents on blue paper? The draft sections printed on blue paper (to be handed out at the May 30 CBP meeting) provide basic background information about the watershed planning process and about the Chehalis Basin (history and context). Based on review by the STC, we do not expect these sections to contain controversial statements. Please read them and give us your general reactions and any comments to improve them.

When and how can you provide your comments about these draft documents?

We would appreciate receiving your comments on both the yellow and the blue drafts no later than the next CBP meeting on June 27. We propose three ways for you to provide comments:

Write down your comments (questions, concerns, suggestions) on the comment form handed out at the meeting and send them to Triangle in the stamped, addressed envelopes available at the meeting.

Let us know you prefer to send comments electronically. We will email the comment form to you. After you fill it out, please return it to us by hitting "send."

Bring hard copies with your comments to the June 27 CBP meeting.
