Dear IM Participants,

The Chehalis Basin Partnership extends a special invitation for your

potential participation in the planning and implementation of Watershed

Management Plan Detailed Implementation Strategy #18:  A work group

representing basin-wide interests and agencies will convene to oversee

the current and future scientific studies; and to develop and oversee

the public process to recommend instream flows for the Chehalis Basin.

A planning workshop is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lacey

Community Center located at 6729 Pacific Ave. S.E..  The agenda for that

meeting will entail presenting an overview of the Strategy; requesting

your review and comment on the content and order the Interim Milestones

for implementing the WMP Strategy; seeking potential commitments from

participants to completing Interim Milestones; and identifying the

resources needed for completing the Interim Milestones.

To facilitate the planning process, the Steering Technical Committee has

already prepared a draft work plan that includes tentative Interim

Milestones and potential work participants.  I have included a copy of

this work plan.  You also want to view the issue paper(s) from the

Watershed Management Plan that will provide you insight into this

Strategy.  More information, including the issue papers, is available

We recognize that participants will need to discuss their potential

participation in this project with their individual agency or

organization before making any commitments.  That is why we are asking

that you simply attend and give your input at this workshop.  Once you

have had the opportunity to discuss your potential commitment within

your agency and organization, you can let us know of your status and

conditions for participation.

Once the work plan is complete, we then begin our efforts at

implementing the Strategy.
