At its meeting on December 6, the Steering/Technical Committee (STC) made a few adjustments to the schedule for local meetings, the Detailed Summary of the Level One Assessment, and the selection of Level Two projects. This document summarizes those discussions with an updated schedule, which the STC hereby recommends to the Chehalis Basin Partnership.
One meeting will be held in each of the four major sub-basins agreed upon for study, beginning in February 2002. As decided at the November Partnership meeting, the local meetings will alternate between a stand-alone meeting to educate and involve citizens and a combined Partnership meeting with citizen meeting. The following schedule remains the same, except that the local meeting for April (#3) now has a location:
February 22: regular CBP meeting at Lucky Eagle casino. Study area #1 (Grays Harbor drainages) meeting on Tuesday February 26 at Ocean Shores Convention Center. Local hosts/recruiters might include Mike Quigg, Brian Shea, Arnold Samuels, Brady Engval and others. 5:00-6:00pm open house, 6:00-6:30pm group discussion, 6:30-8:00pm continued open house with cakewalk or other fun and educational activity.
March 19, 2002: study area #2 (areas that drain to the lower Chehalis) meeting with « hour of CBP business from 6:30-7pm, likely at Montesano City Hall. Local hosts/recruiters might include Terri Willis, Orville Ball, Jim Baudorf, Sue Patnude, Mike Madsen, Lee Napier, Grays Harbor Valley Water District #2 representation and others. 5:00-6:00pm open house, 6:00-6:30pm group discussion, 6:30-7:00pm CBP business, 6:30-8:00pm continued open house (general public can also sit in on CBP business if they choose) with cakewalk or other fun and educational activity.
April 26: regular CBP meeting. Study area #3 (areas that drain to the middle Chehalis) meeting on Tuesday evening the 19th, at Black Hills High School in Centralia. Local hosts/recruiters might include Mark Swartout, Margaret Rader, Channelle Holbrook, Dr. Sodhi, Gary Waltenburg, and others. Same schedule as #1.
May 21, 2002: study area #4 meeting (areas that drain to the upper Chehalis) with « hour of CBP business from 6:30-7pm, in study area #4 (tentatively at Chehalis High School). Local hosts/recruiters might include Jim Haslett, Mayor Spahr, Patrick Wiltzius, Lyle Hojem, Bill Barmettler, Rob Schantz, Chris Cheney, and others. Same schedule as #2.
