This letter was sent to some of the people who attended a meeting at the Casino on the Chehalis Reservation
Thank you for your letter stating concerns on the proposed improvements to Anderson Road. The meeting you attended was scheduled for staff to hear the opinions of citizens in the area on how the proposed project could impact them. Your concerns are similar to those of other area residents regarding the possible impacts if Anderson Road is improved as described at the meeting. Your input has been well received by the parties involved in this study.
Following a review, the Chehalis Tribe, who paid for the study, concurs that the cost of raising the roadway is too high. Attention is now directed to the existing culverts under Anderson Road to see if they are installed at the correct elevations. The Tribe is also investigating the addition of some pedestrian walkways from the Tribal center to the casino and some lane channelization at 188th and Anderson Road.
Thank you for giving us your input on this study project. It has been vital in helping scope the direction of how to proceed in this study. If you have other concerns or questions, please contact me again.
Sincerely,
Lester Olson
