The House succeeded in passing 12 of the 13 annual appropriations bills before the August recess, but the Senate ha finished work on only 9. No House-Senate conference negotiations have been scheduled yet. Congress will most likely have to pass continued funding measures to keep the federal government working past September 30 and may resort to rolling a number of bills into an omnibus measure in order to adjourn by October 6.
