The city of Centralia accepted an additional $578,813 in funding for home elevation projects during its regular Tuesday meeting.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency will provide 75 percent of the funds, or $434,1 10 for the flood damage reduction project.
State funds will cover 12.5 percent, or $72,353, with homeowners each paying the 12.5 percent of whatever work is done to protect their homes from flooding.
Eligible Centralia homeowners can receive up to $35,000, plus the 12.5 percent local match,
This new grant brings the total grants Centralia has received for home elevation to just over $2 million.
