It is a completely new piece of software – in fact, none of the hydraulic routines from HEC-2 were used in the HEC-RAS software. As a result of the completion of restoration work on a portion of the Los Angeles River flood protection system, flood zones have been removed from parts of five communities along the Rio Hondo Channel, including Downey, Pico Rivera, South Gate, Paramount, and Montebello.
