A flow of steady rain and wind from the south will continue to soak Grays Harbor through tomorrow, and the National Weather Service warned that the Satsop River would reach flood stage by late Monday morning and may cause flooding in nearby lowlands and roads through the day.
"We're soaked," said Karin Frinell - Hanrahan, the deputy director of Grays Harbor Emergency Management Services. "We are in the middle of a very wet cycle."
The Satsop River is expected to peak at one foot over flood level around 11 tonight.
"They're also closely monitoring the Wynooche and the Chehalis for potential flooding," Frinell - Hanrahan said.
In addition, winds at 15 to 25 mph have blown a few trees onto roadways and power lines.
About 2,000 South Beach customers lost power early this morning and more power outages are expected through the day, according to Ed Pauley, the line supervisor at the Grays Harbor PUD.
The Ocosta School District delayed classes by two hours to accommodate the inconvenience.
"The wind is throwing branches into those wires," Pauley said. "As soon as we get it back up, it goes out again."
Frinell - Hanrahan suggests that people remain alert and watch for standing water and road closures through the day.
"The ground's just so wet," she said. "We always ask people to take caution."
