Penalties

Following is a summary of all penalties of $1,000 or more issued by the Department of Ecology during the fourth quarter (October, November, December) of 2001. All together, Ecology issued $1,447,700 in penalties in the year 2001.

$14,000 Oct. 18, Grays Harbor, Cosmopolis, Weyerhaeuser Co., Cosmopolis, Discharged fecal-coliform- laden waste water into Grays Harbor in excess of permit
$1,000 Dec. 2 Grays Harbor, Aberdeen, Don Young, Spilled diesel oil into Hoquiam River
