Oyster Feed Cancelled

Brady's Oyster Co. and the Grays Harbor Oyster Growers Ass'n. are sorry to announce they will not be having their annual Clean Water Oyster Feed scheduled for Saturday, August 2nd.

The reason we have canceled this popular attraction is that the Weyerhaeuser Company's Cosmopolis pulp mill has exceeded the limits of their operating permit and triggered a one week closure for shellfish harvest in portions of Grays Harbor. This is a short term condition and does not cause long lasting effects.

This event, in it's 6th year, is sponsored by local oyster growers to raises money for combating pollution in Grays Harbor and the Chehalis River Basin.

At this time the oyster growers would like to thank all the thousands of people who have attended our event in past years and supported the idea that we can have development and clean water too but that we have to be very careful how we manage our resources.

Special thanks goes out to the many volunteers that have helped to make this a yearly happening. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this closure has caused and hope to see you next year.
