There will not be a Flood Plan Work Group Meeting in February, 1999
Next meeting for final review of the Flood Plan will be Thursday, March 4, 1999 @ 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Oh how things have gotten busy! There has been little time to review everyone's comments, and the next few weeks will be spent with preparing various grant applications.
Therefore, there is no need for a meeting this month.
However, new events...
Just received the US Army Corps report, 'Post Flood Study Federal Disaster on the Chehalis River at Centralia, Lewis County, Washington'.
Meeting with State Fish and Wildlife next week. Plan to talk one on one with the Tribes shortly thereafter.
Found out that Pierce County plans no FCAAP projects in the Nisqually basin during this grant cycle.
Received a new poster from USGS on how to remap floodplains using aerial photos and digital topography. It uses data from Thurston County in the Old Nisqually area.
I will try to send out the revised Flood Plan out as soon as I get it done, so you have time to review it. It will have no colored maps, but all the changes will be highlighted.
If you have questions or concerns please call Steven Morrison at (360) 786-5480.
