NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AMENDMENT OF GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 38 CASE NO. 991459
NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN that the Grays Harbor County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on October 4, 1999 at 7:30 p.m. in the Commissioner s Meeting Room, Courthouse Administrative Building, Montesano.
Washington to consider a request by Gil Yoder, sponsored by the Grays Harbor Board of County Commissioners, to amend Grays Harbor County Zoning Ordinance, No. 97, Chapter 13.07, titled "Floodplain Combining District." Mr. Yoder is requesting that the Planning Commission reinstate Ordinance No. 97 to its pre-1995 form. This request would exempt certain accessory and pole buildings from elevations and flood-proofing requirements, and allow encroachments including fill, new construction, substantial improvements and other development in cases where a registered professional engineer or architect provides a certification demonstrating that the encroachment does not result in any increase in flood levels during the occurrence of the base flood discharge.
All persons are invited to attend and speak for or against the proposed amendment. Written comments may be delivered in hand or mailed to the Grays Harbor County Department of Public Services, Planning Division 100 Broadway West, Suite 31 Montesano. WA 98563.
Notice is also given that a Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) is being proposed for this amendment. This means that an environmental impact statement will not be required for the proposed amendment. The DNS was issued under WAC 197-11-340(c). This SEPA determination may be appealed as set forth in the laws of the State of Washington. Contact the Planning Division at (360) 249-5579 for information on the appeal procedure and decision date. 9/23/99 Montesano Vidette.
