This course is designed to train high school students in methods used to measure water quality in streams, rivers, and lakes. The objective is to give students an understanding of how water quality data are collected and used to solve environmental problems.
Below are links to lessons on water quality definitions, measurement methods, sampling plans, quality control/quality assurance, and data interpretation. Each lesson consists of several pages of text information, followed by exercises that test the student's understanding of the material. Hands-on instruction in measurement techniques will be given at a spring field seminar.
