Submitting news stories

IF you are interested in submitting material for the CRC's Drops of Water......(subject to approval of Board of Trustees and Advisory Committee)

In the newspaper there are 29 to 30 words per column inch.. The column, before clearances, is 2.166 inches wide.

If you are technically inclined and if you want to submit the typed material in final looking format you need to know:

  1. The font is Times New Roman
  2. The point size is 11pt
  3. The width & line spacing is 11pt
  4. The gutter is 12 pt
  5. Clearance or space on left and right margins is 6pt

Enter or type paragraphs without depressing the Enter key. Let your software wrap each line.

End each paragraph with ONE depression of the Enter key.

Save the story on a diskette, or email it, in ascii format, or as some call it text format. Common extension codes are .asc and .txt

Do not save the story in any other format or as a word processing software document file.

When is the cutoff date?

Submissions (hardcopy, diskette or email) must be in the hands of the CRC by 4:00 p.m. on the 1st Friday of each month. No exceptions. Send your email version to: crc@crcwater.org

When is material printed?

Printing takes place during 3rd week.

When is it distributed?

During the last full week of the month.

Content?

We are looking for success stories or issues dealing with water quality, water resources, fisheries, and other related environmental topics.

We won't publish articles which bash government, other groups or people. No politics.
